Career and Practice as Nutritionist

Work as Integrative Nutrition Coach

Practical Work as a Holistic Nutrition Coach

An integrative health and nutrition coach is an expert who helps people to improve their well-being by achieving their personal goals (e. g. weight loss, energy and agility boosting, physical and mental strength etc.). A holistic nutrition coach supports and guides his or her clients to make their lifestyle and diet healthier, finds out which foods and activities make their daily life easier and helps them to feel better overall. Our Integrative Health and Nutrition Consultants act as independent mentors following a holistic approach.

The Occupational Outlook

The knowledge you gain throughout your studies can not only open up new occupational perspectives, but also serve your health. To begin with, your own personal experience can be passed on to family, friends, and acquaintances. After you have gained enough experience, you can also help other people in finding their individual way to a healthy life. If you would like to pass on your knowledge, you have the following options:

  • You can work with naturopathic doctors, alternative practitioners, and other therapists (with the focus being on nutrition counseling);
  • You can give talks or offer counseling in places like gyms, sports clubs, spas, and hotels; and
  • You can work as a self-employed integrative health and nutrition consultant in your own office.

It is not the aim of this training to enable you to take a therapeutic occupation in the future. An Integrative Health and Nutrition Consultant advices ill clients exclusively on the basis of therapies that have been prescribed by their individual physicians, naturopaths, or other therapist.

The Work of an Integrative Health and Nutrition Consultant

The classical work of an integrative nutrition coach includes all advisory activities with regard to holistic health and nutrition. The range is very broad and includes both the individual one-on-one counseling, as well as group settings. In addition to counseling, creating diet plans or evaluating client questionnaires and dietary diaries, advisers can offer lectures, webinars, seminars or cooking classes. There are lots of options for using the valuable knowledge you gain from this program in your work. It depends only on the direction you are going to choose.
